about me
Witte van der Tempel has shown himself to be an out-of-the-box compositor and animator who is equally at home in large productions, such as the Woezel en Pip television series and feature film, and independent projects like the mixed-media animated short, Lunacy, which was nominated for Best Experimental at Shortcutz Amsterdam and featured on CartoonBrew.com. Since his graduation from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2012, Witte has passionately worked on a variety of collaborative and independent projects that sharpened his skills in Animation, Visual Effects, and Concept Development. His idiosyncratic visual style and concept-driven stories add a unique touch to everything he creates. As a professional compositor he has experience setting up a compositing pipeline for large productions. He has a strong technical base that allows him to learn new software rapidly, and so a wide array of programs lie within his skill-set. His expertise are in ToonBoom and After Effects, but these applications are never used exclusively in compositing. And so he also commands other programs for compositing, animation, editing, and illustration, namely: Photoshop, Anime Studio Pro (Moho), Premiere, and TVPaint, and Illustrator. He also knows the basics of Blender, Nuke, and Cinema 4D. Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Chile, Canada, USA, and the Netherlands, Witte grew up with broad interests and a humanist perspective. His fascination with different realities inspired him to leap into a world of infinite novelty: animation!
