about me
I graduated as a drummer/performer at the Rock Academy in Tilburg. In addition to having played in many different bands, I have been focusing on composing since 2008. I have done a number of collaborations with other composers/musicians/lyricists which has resulted in a number of releases. Together with composer Janco Verduin I wrote music for a number of short silent films by Walt Disney and performed them together with Verduin in cinemas in the Netherlands and Belgium (in collaboration with Eye and BKKC). In addition, I have composed music for promotional films and an audio book and I am writing every day in order to have a wide range of music, so that I can always get started immediately when an assignment comes in. I write spherical, dreamy, but also like to make rock/pop songs and drum & bass/techno tracks. I am also not averse to classical music and I also like to get started with strings, wind instruments and percussion. In 2018 I wrote music for the children's performance 'A swarm of cows'.

Ik ben de laatste hand aan het leggen op een sferisch heel spannend donker stuk muziek. Zeer geschikt voor een thriller. Ik heb 3 hoofdthema's op verschillende manieren uitgewerkt. Instrumentarium is hoofdzakelijk strijkers, Franse hoorn, percussie en elektronische beats.
Ik ben verder breed inzetbaar als het om genres gaat. Ik kan minimalistisch schrijven, maar ook uitpakken naar een bombastisch nummer met koor en strijkers. Ik speel naast drums ook elektrische gitaar en hou wel van een stoer randje in het geluid. Ik zoek graag grenzen op en denk niet in hokjes, voor een meer experimentele benadering ben je bij mij ook aan het goede adres. Ik ben altijd op zoek naar aparte 'nieuwe' geluiden om iets te maken wat niet al tig keer eerder is gedaan. Ik schrijf altijd beeldend. Ik heb altijd al wel een plaatje in mijn hoofd als ik muziek maak.

I work with Logic, Reason and possibly Cubase. I can work with MIDI and I also play guitar, drums and vocals.
I got a certificate in studio technique at the SAE in Rotterdam

Alice in Cartoonland: Eye and BKKC have launched a prize to write music for a Walt Disney silent film. Janco Verduin and I won this prize and composed music for 5 films and performed the music live in various cinemas in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The Concert Game: I made music for an instruction video for a new app.
For a project by students of the Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam, I made music for the short documentary 'de Hoogstraat', about the Hoogstaat in Rotterdam in the 1920s and 1930s.

Received a subsidy for my improvisation project Szense (from Muzieklab Brabant) and a musical collaboration with the band Yeleen from Burkina Faso in Burkina Faso (from the Mundial foundation).
Did several tours with the bands The May Bees, E-Quad, Niels Duffhues and Betonfraktion (in the US, Canada, South Africa and Germany)
Won a prize from the BKKC and Eye for writing music for films by Walt Disney (together with Janco Verduin)
