We are working on our final film for our second year at the HKU. We are making an absurdist short drama film.

In a world where babies are genetically modified, a couple must deal with the uncertainty of whether this will work well for their future baby. A doctor may not have made the right modifications to their baby.

We want to create an uncomfortable feeling in the game for the viewers. We will do this by making the interactions between the characters different from how things work in our world. Consider, for example, the films of Yorgos Lanthimos.

What do we offer?
Unfortunately, because it is a student production, we cannot reimburse you. Of course we do have travel expenses and catering on set! Of course there is also a nice atmosphere on set and you have a nice acting experience/experiment in our absurd world!

MAE (V/26)
An actress around 26 years old who wants to play MAE. Mae is a working woman who decides to have a child with her partner Adriaan. She has difficulty managing her expectations and becomes more uncertain about her future and that of her child every day. Good to know: we are looking for someone who wants/can play while pregnant!

ADRIAN (M/29)
An actor around 29 years old who wants to play ADRIAAN. Adriaan works full-time as a manager at an IT company. He likes innovation and challenge in his work. He is authoritarian and calm. He loves Mae very much and would like to raise a child with her.

HUGO (M/40-50)
An actor between 40-50 years old who wants to play Doctor Hugo. Hugo works at the baby clinic where they modify babies so that they become what parents wish. He has a child of his own, who was not modified by human error. As a result, he had no expectations for his child and he discovered that this is better for parent and child. That is why he is now secretly not going to modify the babies at his clinic.
