Lily Shu is a short feature (10-15 min) and tells a story from different perspectives about a Chinese adopted girl who struggles with her adoption, identity and self-acceptance. I would like to make this film for my graduation film at the Dutch Filmers Academy and I am looking for actors!
I mainly want to make this film to create more recognition for adoptees, but also for adoptees themselves.

Lily Shu 16-20 years | Chinese appearance
The protagonist. A Chinese adopted girl around whom the story revolves. To others she looks like an annoying teenager, but what they don't know is what internal conflict she experiences as an adoptee. With an understated character, she must try to stay strong in the difficult and sometimes harsh outside world.

Marga 40-50 years | Dutch appearance
A cheerful mother who always likes to keep things cozy and tries to understand her daughter Lily Shu.

Johan 40-50 years | Dutch appearance
Lily Shu's father. A simple and thoughtful man who does not always know how to deal with his teenage daughter.

Chinese lady 40-50 years | Chinese appearance
A tough, smart and understanding lady who is good with her words. She has also experienced quite a bit in her life as an Asian woman who had to find her way in Dutch society.
